Contract of Free Companionship

The setting down of this legal document in written form by Scribe's Signature Here of the Caste of Scribes, on this, the 7th day of Bakah (11) in the year 10,158 CA serves as the Contract of Companionship between two Gorean Free Persons:

Lady Robin Sinclair, Cos, En'Scribe, Sable Tarn Estate

This contract may only be severed in the following cases: Death, Slavery, Non-Renewal, or by the breaking of terms set down in the legal contract below. Any breaking of the written terms will result in the immediate dissolvement of the Contract, and all written penalties shall immediately apply. Legal representation of the Caste of Scribes shall oversee and enforce the application of all terms if such event occurs. If the Free Man named in this contract is a Warrior, the enforcing of terms will be exercised by the Caste of Scribes in conjunction with the Caste of Warriors of the Free Man's Home Stone. Guilt incurred by either party of this Contract shall in all due fairness be investigated, testimony gathered and evidence studied, by the Caste of Scribes and the ruling Warrior presence of the Free Man's Home Stone in order to reach the fair and just ruling under Gorean Law.

I, Lady Alyssa Doran, of the Caste of Scribes do hereby attest that both parties are resolute in entering into this Free Companionship of their own free will.

I. Companionship Price. (The Scribe will verify one of the two cases indicated below)

The Lady Robin Sinclair has no living relatives to whom a companionship price would be paid; or her previous companionship(s) cancels/cancel the required companionship price. This is agreeable to the Free Man entering the Companionship Tynan Keir.

II. Personal Assets and Holdings of the Free Man and Free Woman.

I, Tynan Keir of the Caste of Physicians, do hereby attest that these are my sole assets, possessions and holdings as of the date of the signing of this Contract:

Sulas Manor located in Temos, Cos, Manor & gem mine located in Tor

These assets and holdings shall remain the sole, legal property of Tynan Keir, yet may be shared freely at his own discretion, with the Lady Robin Sinclair during the length of their Companionship. (Lady Robin Sinclair)

Should the companionship contract be dissolved for any reason except Death of the Free Man, these holdings remain the sole property of Tynan Keir. (TK/RS).

Should the companionship contract be severed by the Death of Tynan Keir, the Free Man's last Will and Testament will be enacted by the Executor of his Will in distributing his sole assets and holdings. If there is no Will at the time of Death, all of the Free Man's assets and Holdings are transferred to his children; if no children, then to the lady named in this contract, Lady Robin Sinclair, if Death occurs during the length of the Companionship.

I, Lady Robin Sinclair of the Caste of Scribes, do hereby attest that these are my sole assets, possessions and holdings as of the date of the signing of this Contract:

White Larl Inn located in Temos, Cos and any property within, House Tempest Rising located in Selnar, Cos, the M Ram "Tainted Love", along with coin from the sale of her father's shipyard, inn, and scribe work.

These assets and holdings shall remain the sole property of Lady Robin Sinclair, yet will be shared freely with her Free Companion, Tynan Keir during the length of their Companionship.

Should the Lady Robin Sinclair be legally enslaved under Gorean Law by a Man not her Free Companion during the length of this Companionship, Gorean Law will apply to all assets, coin and holdings she owns defaulting to the ownership of the Free Man who enslaves her. This property ownership cannot be overturned by her male Free Companion except by a combat challenge to the Man who has enslaved her; and if the Free Woman was legally enslaved, that enslavement ruling cannot be overturned in any Court. Legal enslavement of the Lady can be appealed by the Lady's male family members, or by her Free Companion, in a Gorean Court of Law, normally the Court of the Ubar or Administrator in the city where enslavement occurred.

Should the Lady Robin Sinclair be legally enslaved by her Free Companion, Tynan Keir, during their Companionship, Gorean Law will apply to all assets, coin and holdings, sole and shared, defaulting to her Free Companion, Tynan Keir. Enslavement and property default therefore cannot be overturned in any court of law.

Should the companionship contract be dissolved by the Death of Lady Robin Sinclair during the length of their companionship, all listed holdings shall become the sole property of Tynan Keir and any children born of their companionship and previous companionships of the Lady, thus no children will be excluded in the properties and holdings of their deceased Mother.

III. Properties, Assets, and Holdings Aquired During the Companionship Contract.

I, Tynan Keir do hereby attest that any profits, properties, coin, assets and holdings I acquire during the length of this Companionship Contract shall be shared with my Free Companion, Lady Robin Sinclair at my discression.

I, Lady Robin Sinclair, do hereby attest that any profits, properties, coin, assets and holdings I acquire during the length of this companionship term shall be shared freely with my Free Companion, Tynan Keir.

The Scribe preparing this contract has advised both parties that should the contract be Dissolved for any reason other than Death, Slavery, or Breaking of terms, the Shared and Acquired assets and properties gained during the Companionship Term shall be appropriated as follows: Any assets and holdings the Free Man has acquired during the Companionship through his own endeavors will then become His sole property. Any assets, coin, and holdings the Free Woman has acquired during the Companionship through her own endeavors will then become her sole property. Any jointly owned property that can be verified with a Deed as belonging to both the Free Woman and Free Man must be divided equally, or an agreement reached by both parties as to how it will continue to be shared; or its liquidation into coin to be equally distributed between both parties. Any disputes concerning jointly owned property and its proper distribution will be settled by the Highest-Ranking Scribe of the Free Man's Home Stone.

IV. Child Custody

Legal custody of any children born of the companionship between Tynan Keir and Lady Robin Sinclair shall be appropriated under Gorean Law which specifies that a Free Man has rights to his own Heirs (Scribe will indicate one of the two custody arrangements below according to the wishes of the Free Man.):

IB: Should this Companionship Contract be dissolved or is not renewed for any reason, I, Tynan Keir, as Father of my Heirs hereby retain full custody of the children born of this Companionship upon the contract's dissolvement. The Lady Robin Sinclair's privileges of visitation and/or to Instruct the children may or may not be given, and are subject to my discretion alone. I still retain my rights to visitation and the choosing of Suitors and Companions for any female children I allow the Mother full custody of.

V. Terms and Penalties.

Both parties attest and agree that in the case of sexual relations of the Lady Robin Sinclair with any Free Person not her Free Companion named in this contract will result in this contract becoming Dissolved and the total loss of all sole and shared assets she possessed before and during the period of companionship. It is further understood by the Lady named in this contract that she can, under Gorean Law, be enslaved for engaging in Sexual Relations with another man not her Free Companion, further resulting in stripping of Caste, Citizenship and loss of any and all rights to her Children.

In the case of enslavement of the Lady Robin Sinclair, consequences will follow Gorean Laws for Enslavement; and any children born of this companionship Term shall be delivered immediately into the sole custody of the father, Tynan Keir. Couching Law will also be enforced if such a case occurs.

In the case of a mutually agreed Dissolution of this contract before its expiration date, all properties and assets acquired during the length of the companionship shall be divided between both parties as specified above in the Clause above addressing property distribution and appropriation. A dissolution agreement must be filed with the proper authorities and signed by a minimum of two (2) witnesses.

With the affixing of my personal signature below, I attest that I enter into this Contract of Companionship of my own free will, and with full agreement to all terms, stipulations and penalties set forth.

The companionship price ('bridal price') for the Lady Andra Patrell in the amount of one spear, a war tarn from the flocks of Sable Tarn Estates, and a copper tarsk has been paid by Lucien Iteratus, to her Legal Guardian, Ard Pantrell, En'Sword of Cos and Commander of the Raiders of Cos.

II. Personal Assets and Holdings of the Free Man and Free Woman.

I, Garrick Iteratus of the Caste of Warriors, do hereby attest that these are my sole assets, possessions and holdings as of the date of the signing of this Contract:

These assets and holdings shall remain the sole property of Lady Andra Pantrell, yet will be shared freely with her Free Companion, Garrick Iteratus, during the length of their Companionship.

Should the Lady Andra Pantrell be legally enslaved under Gorean Law by a Man not her Free Companion during the length of this Companionship, Gorean Law will apply to all assets, coin and holdings she owns defaulting to the ownership of the Free Man who enslaves her. Should the companionship contract be severed by the Death of Lucien Iteratus, then his last Will and Testament will be enacted by the Executor of his Will in distributing his sole assets and holdings. If there is no Will at the time of Death, all of Lucien Iteratus's assets and Holdings are transferred to his children. Sable Tarn Estate will be held in trust for Lucius Iteratus until he reaches age of majority.

I, Reticent Xianthe, of the Caste of Warriors, do hereby attest that these are my sole assets, possessions and holdings as of the date of the signing of this Contract:

Xianthe of Cos has no personal belongings.

These assets and holdings shall remain the sole property of Reticent Xianthe, yet will be shared freely with her Free Companion, Lucien Iteratus, during the length of their Companionship.

Should the companionship contract be dissolved for any reason except Death, Slavery, or Breaking Contract Terms by the Lady named in this contract, these holdings will remain the sole property of Reticent Xianthe. Should the Reticent Xianthe be legally enslaved under Gorean Law by a Man who is not her Free Companion during the length of this Contract, Gorean Law will apply to all assets, coin and holdings she owns defaulting to the ownership of the Free Man who enslaves her. This property ownership cannot be overturned by Lucien Iteratus except by a combat challenge to the Man who has enslaved her; and if Reticent Xianthe is legally enslaved, that enslavement ruling cannot be overturned in any Court. Should the companionship contract be dissolved by the Death of Reticent Xianthe during the length of their companionship, all listed holdings shall become the sole property of Lucien Iteratus and any children born of their companionship, therefore no child will be excluded from inheriting their share of the properties and holdings of their deceased Mother.

V. Properties, assets, holdings acquired during the Companionship Contract.

I, Lucien Iteratus, do hereby attest that any profits, properties, coin, assets and holdings I acquire during the length of this Companionship Contract Shall be shared with my Free Companion, Reticent Xianthe, upon my discretion only.

I, Reticent Xianthe, do hereby attest that any profits, properties, coin, assets and holdings I acquire during the length of this companionship term shall be shared freely with my Free Companion, Lucien Iteratus.

Should this Companionship Contract be dissolved or is not renewed for any reason, I, Lucien Iteratus, as Father of my Heirs hereby retain full custody of the following children born prior to this Contract upon the contract's dissolution: Lucius, Asheron, Alexander, Theron, Naime, Astinos, Delios and Takis Iteratus. I, Lucien Iteratus, as Father of my Heirs will retain full custody of any child born as a result of this Contract. The Lady Xianthe's privileges of visitation and to instruct the children born of this contract may or may not be given, and are subject to my discretion alone. I still retain my rights to Visitation and the choosing of Suitors and Companions for any female children that I may allow Reticent Xianthe full custody of.

VI. Terms and Penalties.

Both parties attest and agree that in the case of the Reticent Xianthe engages in Sexual Relations with any Free Person who is not Lucien Iteratus will result in this contract becoming dissolved and the total loss of all sole and shared assets she possessed before and during the period of companionship. It is further understood by Reticent Xianthe that she can, under Gorean Law, be enslaved for engaging in Sexual Relations with another man not her Free Companion, further resulting in stripping of Caste, Citizenship and loss of any and all rights to her Children. Since paternity of all children is of utmost importance to the Contract, the Reticent Xianthe is further prohibited from engaging in sexual intercourse with any male slave.

In the case of enslavement of the Lady Xianthe, consequences will follow Gorean Laws for Enslavement; and any children born of this companionship shall be delivered immediately into the sole custody of the father, Lucien Iteratus. Couching Law will also be enforced if such a case occurs.

In the case of a mutually agreed Dissolution of this contract before its expiration date, all properties and assets acquired during the length of the companionship shall be transferred to sole ownership of Lucien Iteratus unless he deems otherwise. Scribe Note: This portion is to be filled out to specifically define the Rights, Privileges and City Powers of the Ubar's Free Companion in times of War. This is a highly vital portion of the Joining Contract for the Ruler of the Ubarate.

I, Lucien Iteratus, Ubar of Cos, Administrator of Temos, do hereby attest that my Free Companion named in this contract, Reticent Xianthe, shall have the following privileges, rights and powers that are due her status as my Free Companion:

Additionally, I, Lucien Iteratus, Ubar of Cos, Administrator of Temos, do hereby attest that my Free Companion, Reticent Xianthe, shall be granted the title of "Ubara of Cos." She may not act upon military matters without my expressed permission; she will not serve as Regent or lead my Armies without both my written permission and the granting of the Ring of the Ubar into her personal keeping unless I personally command otherwise.

Should my Free Companion, Reticent Xianthe act, or attempt to act against the above Decrees, then she will be charged as an act of Treason against her ruler and her Home Stone and therefore be subject to trial and sentencing for Treason by the Caste of Warriors. Should my Free Companion at any time attempt or plot to coup, to overthrow my rule or attempt become a military Ubara, she will be executed for Treason.

Additionally, any children born of this companionship will not be taken out of my City without my express permission.

V. Child Custody

IB: Should this Companionship Contract be dissolved or is not renewed for any reason, I, (Zakari Grey) as Father of my Heirs hereby retain full custody of the following children born of this Companionship upon the contract's dissolvement: (Emily 5 female, and Samantha 3 female. VI. Terms and Penalties.

Both parties attest and agree that in the case of the Lady Akina Grey Sexual Relations with any Free Person not her Free Companion named in this contract will result in this contract becoming Dissolved and the total loss of all sole and shared assets she possessed before and during the period of companionship. It is further understood by the Lady named in this contract that she can, under Gorean Law, be enslaved for engaging in Sexual Relations with another man not her Free Companion, further resulting in stripping of Caste, Citizenship and loss of any and all rights to her Children.

XIII. The Scribe preparing this contract has advised both parties that should the contract be Dissolved for any reason other than Death, Slavery, or Breaking of terms, the Shared and Acquired assets and properties gained during the Companionship Term shall be appropriated as follows: Any assets and holdings the Free Man has acquired during the Companionship through his own endeavors will then become His sole property. Any assets, coin, and holdings the Free Woman has acquired during the Companionship through her own endeavors will then become her sole property. Any jointly owned property that can be verified with a Deed as belonging to both the Free Woman and Free Man must be divided equally, or an agreement reached by both parties as to how it will continue to be shared; or its liquidation into coin to be equally distributed between both parties. XV. Should this Companionship Contract be dissolved or is not renewed and the Lady has not been enslaved or broken terms, Lady Anisa J SincIair, shall retain custody of born of the companionship, until the children have reached an age suitable for Caste Training, which is determined by the Caste of the Free Man; at which time custody shall be immediately delivered to the Father,Slade Vasant, in order to be trained in the Caste of Builders. During the earliest years, Slade Vassant, shall have full visitation rights of the children; after the children are delivered into his custody, Lady Anisa J SincIair, may have Visitation rights of the children which are subject to the discretion of the Father. Any children, born of this companionship shall remain with Anisa J SincIair, until such time that they reach age for caste training. Should this companionship be dissolved for reasons other than Death or Enslavement of the Lady, or her breaking of terms. Slade Vasant, retains his rights as Father of the children in the choosing and approving of Suitors and Companions for his female children. Contract of Free Companionship

The setting down of this legal document in written form by Lady Robin Sinclair of the Caste of Scribes, on this, the 4th day of En'Var (4) in the year 10,158 CA , mun date, June 22, 2008, serves as the Contract of Companionship between two Gorean Free Persons:

Daxos Iteratus, City of Temos, Island Ubarate of Cos, Administrator of Temos, Caste of Warriors, House Sable Tarn

Lady Mariska Crow, City of Brundisium, A Free Woman of the Warrior's Caste

This contract may only be severed in the following cases: Death, Slavery, Non-Renewal, or by the breaking of terms set down in the legal contract below. Any breaking of the written terms will result in the immediate dissolution of the Contract, and all written penalties shall immediately apply. Legal representation of the Caste of Scribes shall oversee and enforce the application of all terms if such event occurs. If the Free Man named in this contract is a Warrior, the enforcing of terms will be exercised by the Caste of Scribes in conjunction with the Caste of Warriors of the Free Man's Home Stone. I, (Scribe's Signature Here), of the Caste of Scribes do hereby attest that both parties are resolute in entering this Free Companionship of their own free will and for the mutual benefit of the Ubarate Island of Cos and the City of Brundisium.

I. Companionship Price.

The companionship price for the Lady Mariska Crow has been paid by Lucien Iteratus, Ubar of Cos, to her Brother, Axel Crow, Administrator of Port Genesium, a province of Brundisium, Homestone of Brundisium, in the form of two (2) Roundships of Heavy Class and one (1) Roundship of Medium Class.

II. Dowry.

No Dowry is owing for this Contract.

III. Personal Assets and Holdings of the Free Man and Free Woman.

A. I, Daxos Iteratus, of the Caste of Warriors, do hereby attest that these are my sole assets, possessions and holdings as of the date of the signing of this Contract:

Personal account with the Bank of Cos (Balance undisclosed), Personal inheritance from his parents (Amount undisclosed), his war tarn, Night Ryder; nine Heavy Ram warships, his personal weapons collections, and his personal effects.

These assets and holdings shall remain the sole, legal property of Daxos Iteratus, yet may be shared freely at his own discretion, with the Lady Mariska Crow during the length of their Companionship.

Should the companionship contract be dissolved for any reason except Death of the Free Man, these holdings remain the sole property of Daxos Iteratus.

Should the companionship contract be severed by the Death of Daxos Iteratus, the Free Man's last Will and Testament will be enacted by the Executor of his Will in distributing his sole assets and holdings. If there is no Will at the time of Death, all of the Free Man's assets and Holdings are transferred to his children; if no children, then all of Daxos Iteratus' assets will become property of his older brother, Lucien Iteratus. If Death occurs during the length of the Companionship, Lady Mariska Crow will be paid a stipend each moon until the end of the contract period.

B. I, Lady Mariska Crow of the Caste of Warriors, do hereby attest that these are my sole assets, possessions and holdings as of the date of the signing of this Contract:

37 Silver Tarns, her perfume making equipment, and her personal effects.

These assets and holdings shall remain the sole property of Lady Mariska Crow, yet will be shared freely with her Free Companion, Daxos Iteratus, during the length of their Companionship.

Should the Lady Mariska Crow be legally enslaved under Gorean Law by a Man other than Daxos Iteratus, her Free Companion, during the length of this Companionship, Gorean Law will apply to all assets, coin and holdings she owns. These assets will default to the ownership of the Free Man who enslaves her. This property ownership cannot be overturned by Daxos Iteratus, except by a combat challenge to the Man who has enslaved her. If the Lady Mariska Crow is legally enslaved, that enslavement ruling cannot be overturned in any Court. Legal enslavement of the Lady can be appealed by the Lady's male family members, or by her Free Companion, in a Gorean Court of Law, normally the Court of the Ubar or Administrator in the city where enslavement occurred.

Should the Lady Mariska Crow be legally enslaved by her Free Companion, Daxos Iteratus, during their Companionship, Gorean Law will apply to all assets, coin and holdings, sole and shared, defaulting to Daxos Iteratus' possession. Enslavement and property default therefore cannot be overturned in any court of law.

Should the companionship contract be dissolved by the Death of Lady Mariska Crow during the length of their companionship, all listed holdings shall become the sole property of Daxos Iteratus and any children born of their companionship and previous companionships of the Lady, thus no children will be excluded in the properties and holdings of their deceased Mother.

IV. Properties, Assets, and Holdings Acquired During the Companionship Contract.

I, Daxos Iteratus, do hereby attest that any profits, properties, coin, assets and holdings I acquire during the length of this Companionship Contract shall not be shared with my Free Companion, Lady Mariska Crow, due to my position as Administrator of Temos.

I, Lady Mariska Crow, do hereby attest that any profits, properties, coin, assets and holdings I acquire during the length of this companionship term shall be shared freely with my Free Companion, Daxos Iteratus, if he so chooses.

The Scribe preparing this contract has advised both parties that should the contract be Dissolved for any reason other than Death, Slavery, or Breaking of terms, the Shared and Acquired assets and properties gained during the Companionship Term shall be appropriated as follows: Any assets and holdings Daxos Iteratus has acquired during the Companionship through his own endeavors will then become His sole property. Any assets, coin, and holdings Lady Mariska Crow has acquired during the Companionship through her own endeavors will then become her sole property. Any jointly owned property that can be verified with a Deed as belonging to both Daxos Iteratus and Lady Mariska Crow will become the sole property of Daxos Iteratus.

V. Child Custody

Legal custody of any children born of the companionship between Daxos Iteratus and Lady Mariska Crow shall be appropriated under Gorean Law which specifies that a Free Man has rights to his own Heirs. Above all else, any children born of this Companionship will be reared and raised on the Ubarate Island of Cos, regardless of who's custody the children are in:

Should this Companionship Contract be dissolved or is not renewed for any reason, I, Daxos Iteratus, as Father of my Heirs, hereby retains full custody of all children born of this Companionship upon the contract's dissolution. The Lady Mariska Crow's privileges of visitation and/or to Instruct the children may or may not be given, and are subject to my discretion alone. I still retain my rights to visitation and the choosing of Suitors and Companions for any female children I allow the Mother full custody of.

VI. Terms and Penalties.

Both parties attest and agree that in the case of sexual relations of the Lady Mariska Crow with any Free Person not her Free Companion, Daxos Iteratus, will result in this contract becoming Dissolved and the total loss of all sole and shared assets she possessed before and during the period of companionship. It is further understood by the Lady Mariska Crow that she can, under Gorean Law, be enslaved for engaging in Sexual Relations with another man not her Free Companion, further resulting in stripping of Caste, Citizenship and loss of any and all rights to her Children.

Lady Mariska Crow further understands that it is her duty to assure that any children born of this companionship are fathered by Daxos Iteratus. Thusly, she is prohibited from engaging in sexual relations with any male slave.

In the case of the enslavement of the Lady Mariska Crow, consequences will follow Gorean Laws for Enslavement; and any children born of this companionship term shall be delivered immediately into the sole custody of the father, Daxos Iteratus. Couching Law will also be enforced if such a case occurs.

In the case of a mutually agreed Dissolution of this contract before its expiration date, all properties and assets acquired during the length of the companionship shall be divided between both parties as specified above in the Clause above addressing property distribution and appropriation. A dissolution agreement must be filed with the Ubar of Cos, the Administrator of Brundisium and signed by a minimum of two (2) witnesses.

CLAUSE of the Administrator of Temos

I, Daxos Iteratus, Administrator of Temos, do hereby attest that my Free Companion named in this contract, Lady Mariska Crow, shall have all privileges, rights and powers that are due her status as my Free Companion in times of Peace.

Additionally, I, Daxos Iteratus, Administrator of Temos do hereby attest that during times of War, my Free Companion, Lady Mariska Crow shall not be granted the title of "Ubara." She must abide by my authority at all times. She may not act upon military matters without my expressed permission; she will not serve as Regent or lead my Armies without both my and the Ubar of Cos' written permission and the granting of my Signet Ring into her personal keeping unless the Ubar of Cos commands otherwise. Unless otherwise stated, if I fall in battle, the City of Temos will be lead by the Ubar of Cos.

Should my Free Companion, Lady Mariska Crow act, or attempt to act against the above Decrees, she will be charged with committing an act of Treason against her ruler and his Home Stone and therefore be subject to trial and sentencing for Treason by the Caste of Warriors. Should my Free Companion at any time attempt or plot to coup, to overthrow my rulership or attempt become a military Ubara, she will be executed for Treason.

Should this companionship contract be Dissolved, Lady Mariska Crow can no longer claim the authorities, privileges and powers granted to her by me as my Free Companion. Additionally, any children born of this companionship will not be taken out of my City without my expressed permission.

This contract must be renewed by the 20th ahn, Gorean midnight of its Anniversary date, September 22, 2008, or it shall become Dissolved under Gorean Law. However, Daxos Iteratus and Lady Mariska Crow both agree that this contract will be automatically renewed until an Heir is born from this companionship. They both also attest that they are entering this contract for the mutual benefits of the Ubarate Island of Cos and the City of Brundisium.
